Colouring Your Roots, Not Just a Head Hair Problem
Men know the feeling, and women deal with it too. The grey hairs that sooner or later work their way into a decent head of hair and announce to everyone, not least the man wearing them, that the years are stacking up. Grey hair is the kind of subject that fires the odd bloke straight into the obligatory mid-life crisis. Somewhere between the red sports car and the younger girlfriend, vanity is always in the room. Plenty of men act first and think later, and dye their hair on the spot. No measure is off the table, however staged the result ends up looking. So that you avoid the same mistakes, over-toned hair or roots grown out an inch, today's Charlemagne Premium blog will show you what actually matters when it comes to colouring your roots. Enjoy the read, gentlemen.
Hair and the colours nature gave it
When your hair starts pulling on the grey veil there are a few ways to throw a spanner in the works of nature and ageing. The simplest is probably to accept the facts and let nature get on with it. We all know a man is like a good wine in the end. He gets better and more interesting with age. Shaving it all off and going full Mr Clean also strikes some men as an alternative to going grey, since that way you no longer have to look at the evidence. Too easy a way out for our taste. The sensible middle ground between clearing the lot and surrendering without a fight is, in our view, colouring the roots, or the whole head.
The colour
First things first: unless you happen to have jet-black Mediterranean hair, picking, or rather hunting down, the right shade of colourant for you usually comes down to testing and trying individual products across the range. The simplest and safest way to let an experimental mix do its work is a trip to a barber you trust. He can advise you as always and colour the roots for you. Bear in mind, though, that this has to be repeated every few weeks so you do not end up with a band of your natural colour showing through at the root.
Colouring the beard, a sound idea at any age
Men are often unhappy with the colour of their beard hair. Patchy tones, or hair so light it reads as fluff rather than beard, can genuinely get a man down. If you want to make changes to your beard hair, we are here to lend a hand. In the spirit of: anything is possible, nothing is compulsory.
Dark beard hair has one property that makes a beard look fuller overall. That comes from the colour casting a stronger shadow than, say, a blond beard does. One effective way to underline that shadow is to give the colour a helping hand. The market carries a wide range of shades to change how your facial hair looks. Be aware, though, that the colouring process puts your beard hair under strain. Then there is how fast the roots grow back. Depending on length, colouring the roots lands on the morning to-do list every 5 to 10 days at least. And to deal with exactly that problem of strained, unevenly coloured hair, you will of course find the right kit and products in the Charlemagne Premium shop, because:
„A healthy and well groomed beard is important for a real man, that's why we offer everything you need to keep yours doing so.“
As barbers with more than 20 years in the trade between us, we went looking for styling & care products that convinced us 100%. There were some good products on the market, but none that gave us everything we needed. After some thought we decided in 2014 to develop our own range. For two years we used every free minute after work at the barbershop to refine the formulations down in our cellar. When it came to ingredients, only the best was good enough. We bought the finest jojoba oils available in Morocco, and argan oil from Italy.
After two years and a good many attempts our first product line was ready, and it has been winning customers over ever since. We think 98% positive reviews speak for themselves. Since the official launch in 2016 it has of course been developed further, continuously. That is just one of the reasons Charlemagne Premium products have won not one but several comparison tests in recent years.
You will find all our products right here in our online store. For any questions about them, you can reach us any time at info@charlemagne-premium.com.
